Dr. McKenna Caspers was born and raised in Bloomington, MN where her first introduction to horses was through local Arabian horse shows. The combination of her love of horses and passion for the
sciences led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She attended and completed her veterinary schooling at the University of Minnesota. During veterinary school, she had the opportunity to participate in externships all over the world including Dubai Equine Hospital, which she visited during the peak flat racing and endurance racing seasons. After graduating from veterinary school in 2019, her advanced clinical training included several internships in both private practice and academic settings. Additionally, she completed a research fellowship at Cornell University with Dr. Heidi Reesink, focusing on equine orthopedics with an emphasis on non-septic tenosynovitis in the horse. Dr. Caspers is dedicated to supporting the unique human-animal bond that we have with horses through education and evidence-based practices. When Dr. Caspers is not working, she spends her time pampering her retired horse Brass Ring, and riding her younger horse Lucky Ducky, who she hopes will be her next eventing partner!
