Nicole Swinehart, DVM
Dr. Nicole Swinehart joined South Carolina Equine Associates, Inc in the summer of 1999. She is
originally from Cincinnati, Ohio where she completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from
Miami University in 1994. From there, she pursued her degree in Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State
University finishing in 1998. Pursuing her interests in equids, Nicole continued on with an Equine
Medicine and Surgery Internship at the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg,
Virginia. Her main areas of interest include sports medicine, ophthalmology, and internal medicine. Dr.
Swinehart currently serves as one of the lead veterinarians at South Carolina Equine. She began riding hunter/jumpers at the age of eight years old and continues this passion today on her Dutch Warmblood Daydream EB. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Chris Cutler and their daughter Coker on their 80-acre farm in Boykin, SC.

Magda Wylie, DVM
Dr. Wylie graduated from Tulane University with a bachelors degree in Biology before receiving her
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 2005. After completing a year long
equine internship at The University of Missouri, she joined South Carolina Equine Associates in 2006. Dr.
Wylie grew up in Atlanta, GA, and competed show hunters throughout her childhood. She has special
interests in performance horse medicine and internal medicine, especially pertaining to the sport horse.
She now resides on her own horse farm in Rembert, SC with her husband, who is a small animal veterinarian, and their two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys helping them ride and show their own ponies.
Amelia Lee, DVM
Dr. Lee is originally from Mount Vernon, Ohio where she grew up riding in the hunter/jumper ring and
competing in a variety of other disciplines. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a
Bachelors of Science in 2012. She then stayed at Ohio State where she obtained her Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Following veterinary school, her interest in performance horses and
internal medicine led her to complete a yearlong internship at The Equine Medical Center of Ocala in
Florida. Knowing that she wanted to continue working on sport horses and athletes, Dr. Lee moved to Camden, South Carolina in June of 2017 and has been here ever since. Her primary interests are in sports medicine and lameness as well as internal medicine. Dr. Lee is currently one of the lead veterinarians at South Carolina Equine. Dr. Lee’s hobbies including riding, spending time with family and drag racing with her husband Michael. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Michael & many animals they have together on their farm in Lugoff.
Susannah Kennedy, BVMS, MRCVS
Dr. Susannah Kennedy, BVMS, MRCVS joined South Carolina Equine Associates in the summer of 2018.
She previously worked at Equine Medical Associates in Lexington, KY. Dr. Kennedy grew up in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Becker College in Leicester, MA with a Bachelor of
Veterinary Science in 2010. In 2016, she graduated from the University of Glasgow in Scotland with a
Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. After graduation she completed an internship in Essex,
England. In 2021, Dr. Kennedy received a certificate in Equine Chiropractic from the Chi University in
Florida. Her main interests are equine chiropractic, dentistry, wound care and field surgeries. In her
free time, Susannah enjoys traveling to new places, reading and playing with her cat Sylvester.
Dr. Jeremy Servantez, DVM
Dr. Jeremy Servantez grew up in Iowa and attended Iowa State University for both his undergraduate and veterinary education. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Servantez went on to complete an equine veterinary internship at Idaho Equine Hospital in Nampa, Idaho where he received specialized training in internal medicine, sports medicine, and reproduction. Following his internship Dr. Servantez worked at an equine clinic in Iowa for 5 years and furthered his education with the University of Tennessee and the Orthopedic Research Center at Colorado State University. Dr. Servantez received is certification as an equine rehabilitation practitioner which has allowed him to incorporate a variety of non-invasive therapeutic techniques to improve his patient’s quality of movement while offering non-traditional pain management methods. His primary interests include sports medicine rehab, general medicine and gastrointestinal health. In his off-time, Dr. Servantez enjoys riding his horse Piper, hiking, camping, and kayaking.
Dr. Servantez is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians, and of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association.
McKenna Caspers, DVM
Dr. McKenna Caspers was born and raised in Bloomington, MN where her first introduction to horses was through local Arabian horse shows. The combination of her love of horses and passion for the sciences led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She attended and completed her veterinary schooling at the University of Minnesota. During veterinary school, she had the opportunity to participate in externships all over the world including Dubai Equine Hospital, which she visited during the peak flat racing and endurance racing seasons. After graduating from veterinary school in 2019, her advanced clinical training included several internships in both private practice and academic settings. Additionally, she completed a research fellowship at Cornell University with Dr. Heidi Reesink, focusing on equine orthopedics with an emphasis on non-septic tenosynovitis in the horse. Dr. Caspers is dedicated to supporting the unique human-animal bond that we have with horses through education and evidence-based practices.
When Dr. Caspers is not working, she spends her time pampering her retired horse Brass Ring, and
riding her younger horse Lucky Ducky, who she hopes will be her next eventing partner!
Brittany Corstange, Practice Manager
Brittany was born and raised in Camden, SC. She attended The College of Charleston and obtained a B.S. in Business and Hospitality and Tourism Management, while helping lead their equestrian team to compete at the IHSA National Championships as their captain. Following school, Brittany began a career in veterinary medicine, then specialized veterinary medicine where she enjoyed small animal oncology and emergency. After transitioning to human medicine and spending many years working for plastic and reconstructive microsurgeons specializing in breast reconstruction for breast cancer, she has returned from New York, home to Camden. Throughout her travels, horses and riding have never fallen by the wayside. In her spare time, Brittany can be found at her mother’s barn riding and lending a helping hand, horse showing, watching football or looking for new, exciting places to eat with her husband

Brittany Cole, Veterinary Assistant
Brittany joined the South Carolina Equine team in June of 2022 after working as a veterinary assistant in small animal for 2 years. She is originally from Kershaw, SC where she currently lives with her fur babies Ringo, Levi & Timber. Brittany has a degree in business management, but realized her true passion
was in horses after years of showing and barrel racing. In her spare time Brittany enjoys trail riding,
hunting & fishing.
Katilyn Atkinson, Veterinary Assistant
Katilyn joined the South Carolina Equine Associates team in 2023, after working as a veterinary
technician with small and large animals. She is originally from Lamar, SC. Katilyn plans to attend vet school in the future to pursue her ultimate goal of becoming a veterinarian herself. She has been
training and breaking horses since she was in middle school and enjoys the rewarding process of making young horses. Katilyn grew up on the back of a horse and knew that was her passion at a young age. She spends most of her time barrel racing, being with friends or hunting. She has many animals, but her most beloved are her three horses Brio, Cheyenne and Lakota.
Stephanie Rone, Veterinary Assistant
Stephanie joined the South Carolina Equine Associates team in 2024, after working at a mixed animal practice for 16 years as a Certified Dog Groomer. She currently resides in Kershaw, SC with her husband Marc and son Dalton. She lives on a small ten acre farm with three horses, five dogs, four cats, chickens and a turtle! Stephanie grew up on the back of a horse, entering her first rodeo barrel racing at the early age of six. Her passion for horses and barrel racing continues to this day. If she's not at a barrel race with her beloved horse's Slick and Bangz, she can most likely be found hunting, fishing, at the lake or cheering for her son in his many sports.
Angela Shrader Martin, Administrative Staff
Angela has been working for South Carolina Equine since March of 2022, however she came to the
practice with a vast amount of veterinary/technical experience after working at Camden Veterinary
Hospital for 10 years. Angela was born and raised in Camden, South Carolina and continues to call it
home with her fiancé Daniel and two children. Angela currently specializes in all laboratory related items at the practice and has been an integral addition to the team! In her free time, Angie enjoys camping, kayaking, fishing & hanging out with friends & family.
